#2: Check if there’s a service interruption
If your router’s pending activation isn’t the cause of this issue…
There’s a big chance that your ISP temporarily stopped its services in your area.
Alternatively…
The service provider’s servers or equipment may be experiencing some unexpected problems.
See, back in April 2022…
Xfinity’s fiber lines were damaged when a heavy storm hit Central Florida.
As a result…
Thousands of Xfinity users lost access to their WiFi in that particular location.

In that case, Xfinity’s services are currently down in your area.
So, all you can do is wait until the brand fixes the problem in your network. Which is causing the blinking white light on your device.
#3: Restart your router
Do you remember the last time you restarted your router?
Well, if you don’t…
It’s not really surprising.
Because most people don’t interact with their routers regularly.
However…
Not restarting your WiFi source for months can put a toll on your device’s system.
See, like your phone and PC…
Your router also runs multiple tasks at any given time.
So, similar to other gadgets…
You should also let your WiFi source pause its tasks. And refresh its system occasionally.
Because if you don’t, with time, your router may:
- Slow your Internet speed down.
- Stop letting you access the Internet.
- Start blinking white (or green) lights.
Don’t worry, though.
It’s pretty easy to restart your router.
And I’ll show you 2 ways to do so.
Let me start with the steps for…
Restarting your Xfinity device using its app:
- Launch the Xfinity application on your phone/tablet.
- Log in to your account if needed.
- Scroll down the app and select the Internet tile.
- Choose your router from the list.

Don’t want to use the app for this process?

#4: Reconnect your router’s cables
Loose cable connections are notorious for interrupting routers’ activities. Regardless of your ISP.
So, if your device is still blinking white, you should…
Reseat your Xfinity router’s cords:
Step 1: Unplug every cable from your device.
Note: You may or may not include the power cord.
Step 2: Reconnect the cables to your router.
Ensure that you push them all the way through.
Step 3: Wait for 3 minutes so your router can detect the new connections.
Now, if this process still doesn’t remove the blinking light from your router, it’s time to…
#5: Factory reset your device
There might be bugs or glitches attached to your current network settings.
And the only way to remove them is through a factory reset.
Simply speaking…
This process deletes all your information from your router. Which includes your WiFi name and password. So, take note of your network’s credentials before you follow these…
Steps to factory reset your Xfinity router:
Step 1: Locate your device’s Reset button
You’ll find this at the back of your router.
Note: It’s not a tactile or protruding button. Hence, it’ll look like a small hole.
Step 2: Find a pointy object
You may use a paperclip, toothpick, or your phone’s SIM card key.
Step 3: Push the reset button
Use the sharp object you prepared earlier to poke inside the Reset hole.
And keep pressing it for 30 seconds. Or until all the lights on your device turn OFF.
After this process, set up your router again by following the first fix in this article.
And if you still see the blinking white light…
Bonus: Contact Xfinity’s customer support team
