Do all Samsung TVs have Bluetooth?

Not all Samsung TVs have Bluetooth. But an easy way to tell if your TV has one is if it came with a Samsung Smart Remote. Mainly because this remote only connects via Bluetooth. In addition, you may also check if your TV has Bluetooth by going to the Settings menu. And by reading its manual.

5 ways to tell if your Samsung TV has Bluetooth

#1: If your TV came with a Samsung Smart Remote

Did your Samsung TV come with a smart remote?

If so, it’s a confirmation that it does have Bluetooth capability.

Why?

Because the Samsung Smart Remote only connects via Bluetooth.

This is unlike the traditional Samsung remotes. Where they use infrared (IR) signals to control the TV.

“How would I know if my Samsung remote’s smart?”

An easy way to tell is by looking at the design.

The smart remote has much fewer buttons compared to the traditional one. In fact, these are the only ones that it has:

  • Home button.
  • Volume buttons.
  • Microphone button for voice control.
  • Circular directional button at the center.

Also, the Samsung Smart Remote only works with 4K and 8K TVs.

So if your TV’s resolution is a 720p or a 1080p…

Your remote’s definitely not a smart one.

But don’t worry. Even if your TV didn’t come with a smart remote. It’s still possible it has Bluetooth.

Fixes for Samsung TV’s Bluetooth issues

Is your Bluetooth device not pairing with your Samsung TV?

I understand. It can be really frustrating.

But don’t worry. There are some quick and effective fixes for that.

Restart your Samsung TV and Bluetooth device

The fastest way to fix your TV’s Bluetooth connection is by restarting it.

Usually, it’s just a minor glitch that prevents your TV from pairing with another device.

And restarting is the best way to resolve it.

Just disconnect your Samsung TV from its power source. Then press and hold its power button to release any residual charge. And plug it back in after a minute.

Moreover, you may also restart your Bluetooth device. Just switch it off. Then turn it back on after 30 seconds to a minute.

Bring your Bluetooth device closer to the TV

Bluetooth has a much shorter signal range than WiFi.

Generally, Bluetooth will only work if the paired devices are within 30 feet. And that’s one disadvantage of Bluetooth speakers versus WiFi speakers.

So if you’re too far, your Samsung TV won’t connect to your other device.

That’s why you should bring your device close to the TV. That way, you’ll be able to pair them easily.

Update your Samsung TV’s OS

If your Samsung TV’s firmware is outdated, it’ll have many issues. Including failure to connect with other Bluetooth devices.

So see to it that you install the latest updates. Here’s how:

  1. Press your TV remote’s Home button.
  2. Scroll down and select Support.
  3. Select Software Update.
  4. Select Update Now.
