Do Eufy Cameras Work With SmartThings? The Complete Guide

Do Eufy Cameras Work With SmartThings

The SmartThings app is an extremely popular home automation system that allows you to connect all your smart devices within just one system.

If you have a Eufy Smart Camera, you may be wondering if you can integrate it with your SmartThings app.

Eufy cameras are currently not compatible with the SmartThings app. They are compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. If you have a Eufy camera and want to integrate it with SmartThings, you will have to find another smart home solution.

This article will explain why you will have trouble linking your Eufy camera to your SmartThings app and explore some other smart home apps that it can be linked to.

What Is Eufy & Why Can’t It Connect With SmartThings?

Eufy is one of five key brands from Anker, an electronics company that creates “computer-peripheral” products such as power strips and charging cables. Unfortunately, Eufy has not yet integrated the SmartThings app into its products, so you will not be able to control your camera via SmartThings.

Eufy creates smart home security products like doorbells and cameras. It also sells smart vacuums, string lights, and light bulbs.

Many companies are hopping on the smart home trend, but Eufy specializes in smart products.

Eufy’s cameras are high-quality and easy-to-use compared to many other smart cameras, and they don’t require any monthly subscription to use or store data.

What Is SmartThings?

SmartThings is a subsidiary of Samsung and will allow you to control all your smart electronics with an easy-to-use interface. The platform had 62 million active users in 2020, according to Business Insider.

It’s compatible with all kinds of smart devices, not just cameras. You can use it to control home appliances like smart refrigerators, vacuums, and lightbulbs.

For instance, if you want to check if someone is at your door, then see how much battery life is left in your front hall light, you can do both of those things within the SmartThings app with the right devices.

Smart home automation systems like SmartThings allow people who own smart home products to control them all from one app or interface instead of having to log in to a separate app for each one.

So, if you own a smart doorbell from one brand but a smart indoor security camera from a different brand, you should still be able to control them both from an app like SmartThings.

Smart Home Integration

You can integrate many smart home devices into one of these central control systems, and SmartThings is compatible with many different cameras, including Honeywell and Sonos

So why aren’t Eufy products compatible with SmartThings?

Smart home systems are not one-size-fits-all, and each smart product must be programmed to be integrated with a particular smart home system.

That means a formal decision from both companies to integrate.

Does Eufy Have Plans To Integrate SmartThings With Its Products?

Plans To Integrate Eufy With SmartThings App

Eufy has not announced any plans to integrate the SmartThings app with its products. However, that doesn’t mean that there will not be any updates for that in the future.

The smart home business is increasingly competitive, and new partnerships and integrations are being added all the time, so don’t give up on the idea completely!

Keep an eye on software updates and announcements from Eufy or Anker.

If you want to check on the latest updates, you can find a consolidated list of firmware updates on all Eufy products on the Firmware & App Version Update Records Collection page.

What Home Automation Systems Will Work With Eufy?

What Smart Cameras Will Work With SmartThings?

Honeywell, Arlo, and SmartThings cameras will work with the SmartThings app.

If you want to buy a camera that will connect to the app, these cameras offer many of the same capabilities as Eufy.

  • Honeywell: Honeywell is one of the most popular home security brands out there. You can add devices like the IPCAM-WIC1 Entry Level HD Camera to your SmartThings app.
  • Arlo: The Arlo Essential Spotlight Camera looks and works very similarly to a Eufy camera and can connect to SmartThings without issue.
  • Samsung SmartThings: If you want the simplest possible solution, you can buy a camera that was specifically designed to go with the SmartThings app, like the SmartThings Indoor Security Camera.
