#1: Check compatibility

#2: Hard restart

#3: Update the Apple TV app

  1. Go to your App Store.
  2. Search “Apple TV.”
  3. An “Update” option will appear. Tap on it.

Then you can try to reinstall the app. 

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to your Home screen menu.
  2. Select “Apps.”
  3. In the upper right corner of the page, select the Settings icon.
  4. Look for Apple TV and select “Delete.”

To reinstall:

  3. Find the Apple TV app.
  4. In the menu, choose “Reinstall.”

If your TV is connected to the internet…

It should be able to update its firmware automatically. 

However, if you haven’t noticed any auto-update, you can have it turned on. 

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Settings. 
  2. Click “Support.”
  3. Click “Software update.”
  4. Click “Auto-update.”
  5. Make sure to turn it on.

If you’re going to update it manually, you need to:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click “Support.”
  3. Click “Software update.”
  4. Click “Update now.”

Note: Whether you’re updating automatically or manually, make sure you don’t turn off the TV. Otherwise, it’ll disrupt the activity. 

Furthermore, you can also update your device by using a USB flash drive. 

Here’s how:

  1. Get your TV model number on the Samsung support page. 
  2. Install the upgrade file.
  3. Unzip files and move them to your flash drive.
  4. Connect the flash drive to your Samsung TV.
  5. The firmware update should auto-start.

Note: It’s important that you don’t unplug the flash drive until it’s done. This will help you avoid any errors. 

#5: Update your TV’s software

In fact, your TV should automatically update when it’s connected to the internet.

Now, to start update:

  1. Using the remote, go to Settings. 
  2. Click “Support.”
  3. Select “Software Update.”
  4. Select “Update Now.”

To get auto-updates:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select “Support.”
  3. Select “Software Update.”
  4. Click “Auto Update.”

#BONUS: Reset the system

Maybe you need to reset your Smart Hub. 

By doing so, you’re going to “clean” your TV.

This means it’ll erase all apps you’ve downloaded on your Samsung device…

And you can use it again like it’s fresh.

Important: Before you start, you need to back up any information you don’t want to be deleted. Otherwise, you can’t restore them after reset. 

To reset Smart Hub, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Go to Support.
  3. Click “Self Diagnosis.”
  4. Click “Reset.”
  5. Enter your Smart TV’s PIN (Try 0000. It’s the default PIN).
  6. Complete the initial setup.
  7. Click “Accept Terms and Conditions.”

Once the reset is done, you should be able to see your Apple TV app on your Samsung TV screen. 

How to reset Apple TV on Samsung TV

To reset Apple TV on Samsung TV, you only need to do a few steps. Here’s how:

  1. Launch the Apple TV app.
  2. Go to Settings. 
  3. Click “Reset.”

And you’re done.

Note: Resetting Apple TV means that the app will go back to zero. Once it’s reset, it’ll go back to its original settings. It’ll delete all data, and that includes your accounts and TV shows.
