#1: Pair your earbuds to your gadget again
Unlike most earbuds that always come as a set when appearing as a Bluetooth device…
Skullcandy’s Indy Evo earpieces can also appear as individual audio devices.
Which makes them more prone to pairing problems than other earbud models.
That said, it’s very important to pair your Skullcandy audio device to your phone/tablet properly.
Not sure how to do so?
Fret not , just follow these steps to…
Redo your earbuds’ pairing process:
Step 1: Disconnect your Indy Evo from your mobile device
The exact steps for this process depend on your phone’s brand/model.
But to give you some examples, here’s how to disconnect your earbuds from a…

Proceed to fix #4. Because your audio device most likely has a charging problem, not a pairing one.
After closing your Skullcandy’s charging case, wait for 30 seconds before you…

And observe if your Indy Evo now pairs together.
#2: Resync your earbuds
As mentioned earlier…
Your Skullcandy earbuds may appear as separate audio devices.
And if you’re wondering why this is the case…
Well, the Indy Evo model has a Solo/Mono mode.
It’s a feature that allows you to use either earbud on its own. Just in case you want to listen to music while still being aware of your surroundings.
Now, most of the time…
Exiting your audio device’s Solo mode is pretty simple.
All you need to do is place both earbuds in their case.
Then, your earpieces will automatically sync with each other again on your next use.
However, as all devices do, sometimes your Skullcandy Indy Evo glitches.
So, your earbuds may fail to automatically sync.
Luckily though, I know how you can…
Easily resync your Skullcandy earbuds:
Step 1: Unpair your audio device from your phone/tablet
If you’ve connected your Indy Evo earbuds to multiple gadgets…
You need to unpair your audio device from all of them.
Step 2: Turn OFF your earbuds
Remove both earpieces from their charging case.
Then, touch and hold the main button of each earbud for 6 seconds.
Pro tip: Use a timer during this process. People usually count faster than they should. And pressing the main button for less than 6 seconds can prevent your earbuds from turning OFF.
Note: The main button is where the Skullcandy’s logo is located.
Step 3: Reset your earbuds
Hover your fingers over the main buttons on the earpieces again.
Then, press and hold both for 10 seconds to completely reset your audio device.
Once again, ensure that you’re using a timer.
Step 4: Place both earbuds inside the charging case
Now, wait for your Skullcandy earpieces to show a red LED light.
And once they do…
Step 5: Remove your earbuds
At this point, your earpieces should flash blue. As an indication that they’re trying to pair with each other.
Step 6: Wait for your left earbud to flash red and blue
This alternating light pattern is a sign that your earpieces are already connected.
So, once you see this…
Step 7: Pair your Skullcandy earbuds with your gadget
Then, check if your audio device’s earpieces now work together.

#3: Reset your Indy Evo
Most earbud models only have 1 reset method.
But Skullcandy’s Indy Evo has 2.
You’ve already tried 1 of them in the previous solution.
So, this time, you should…
Try a different way to reset your Skullcandy earbuds:
Step 1: Put both earbuds inside the charging case
Ensure that the earpieces go in their correct charging slots.
Step 2: Unpair your audio device
If you see 2 versions of your earbuds, forget both.
Step 3: Turn OFF your gadget’s Bluetooth
Or the device your earbuds were connected to earlier.
Step 4: Remove the right earbud from the case
Keep the other earpiece charged as you…
Step 5: Tap your right earbud’s main button 4x to reset it
The earpiece’s LED light should turn red after this process.
If it doesn’t, place the earbud back in the case again.
Then, repeat this step.
Pro tip: Do the consecutive taps as fast as you can.
Once you see the red LED indicator on your right earbud…
Return it to its charging case.
Step 6: Do steps 4-5 on your left earbud
Once you’ve successfully reset this earpiece as well…
Return it to the charging case. Then, after a few seconds…
Step 7: Take out both earpieces
Your earbuds should now automatically power ON and begin pairing with 1 another.
So, all that’s left to do is connect your audio device to your gadget of choice once more.
#4: Ensure your earbuds are charging
If you don’t see a red light on 1 or both of your earbuds when they’re inside the case…
Your earpieces may not have a pairing issue.
Instead, they have a charging problem. Similar to what happened when 1 side of my JLab earbuds stopped working.
Now, there are several ways to fix a Skullcandy Indy Evo that won’t charge.
But the easiest solution is cleaning your audio device’s charging connectors.
Don’t worry.
This process is much easier than you think.
Just prepare these materials:
- Q-tips.
- Isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher).
Then, follow these…
Simple steps to clean your Skullcandy Indy Evo:
Step 1: Clean the charging points on the case
- Remove both of your earbuds from their case.
- Dip a clean Q-tip into your isopropyl alcohol.
- Use the cotton swab to gently wipe your case’s charging points.
Note: These connectors are located at the deepest section of the charging case.
Step 2: Dry the case’s charging points
Use a dry Q-tip to wipe the deep sections of the charging case again.
Then, leave its cover open until the end of this cleaning process.
So you’ll ensure there isn’t any moisture left inside the case.
Warning: You may damage your earbuds if you charge them while their connectors are wet. So, don’t skip this step.
Step 3: Clean your earbuds’ charging points
Similar to how you cleaned your case’s connectors…
Just dip a cotton swab into the alcohol.
Then, use it to remove dirt from the golden pins at the bottom of each earbud.
Step 4: Dry your earbuds
You can wipe them with a dry cotton swab.
Alternatively, you can also let them air dry for 3 minutes.
Step 5: Return your earbuds to their case
Once you see the LED lights on both of your earpieces…
Allow your audio device to charge for at least 1 hour before you use it again.
Note: If you’ve skipped from the 1st fix to this one, it’s time to try the other solutions above.
