Reset your audio settings.

You’ll have to manually configure any audio setting you’ve set before. 

But the best part is, that all your Insignia TV sound problems are out the window. 

Not to mention, a complete reset should also fix any Insignia TV low volume problems. 

Here’s how to reset your Insignia TV’s audio settings: 

  1. Press the “Menu” button on your Insignia TV remote. 
  2. A pop-up menu should appear. 
  3. Select “Audio.”
  4. Scroll down and click on “Reset Audio Settings.”
  5. Wait for the reset process to finish. 
  6. Turn off your Insignia TV.
  7. Wait for 1 minute. 
  8. Turn your Insignia TV back on. 
  9. Test your channels for any sound. 

#5: Do a channel rescan

By doing a total channel rescan. 

“My Insignia TV has no sound. Why should I do this?”

Because this Insignia no sound issue might only be happening to certain channels. 

In other words, only a specific channel on your Insignia TV might be affected. 

And the worst case, this software glitch may even affect other Insignia channels. 

But don’t worry. 

Doing a complete channel rescan only takes minutes to do. 

Here’s how it works: 

  1. Tap the “Menu” button on your Insignia TV remote. 
  2. Scroll left and click on “Channels.”
  3. Tap on “Auto Channel Search.”
  4. This process can take several minutes to complete.
  5. After the channel rescan, test for any audio in your Insignia TV. 

#6: Check if external speakers or Bluetooth headphones are connected

Sometimes, the cure for your Insignia TV sound not working issue’s profoundly simple: 

An external speaker or Bluetooth headphone causes interference. 

Quite simply, either of these devices is plugged into your Insignia TV. 

And in effect, the sound’s coming out of your headphone or external speaker. 

Sound familiar? 

In fact, this issue is more common in headphones. 


Because it’s too easy to forget you turned on your Bluetooth headphones or are in sync with the TV. 

Luckily though, this fix – as mentioned earlier – is incredibly simple: 

Just unplug the external speaker or shut off your Bluetooth headphones. 

#7: Set Insignia’s audio to “PCM”

Recently installed a home theater system or soundbar? 

Could it be an Insignia soundbar not working problem? 

Or perhaps, you forgot to set the right audio setting for your home theater and soundbar.

So, here’s what you need to do: 

  1. Hit the “Menu” button on your Insignia TV remote. 
  2. Go to “Audio.”
  3. Select “Digital Audio Format/Audio Delay.”
  4. Tap on “Audio Format.”
  5. Change and set it to “PCM.”

Now – hold on for just a minute.

If you have an external streaming device installed, change the audio settings too. 

For instance. 

Say you have an Apple TV plugged into your Insignia TV. 

You’ll have to change the “Audio Format” by doing the following: 

  1. Head to your Apple TV’s settings menu (gear icon).

Think of a factory reset as a way to refresh your entire Insignia TV system completely.
