How to reset Hisense TV without a remote?
To reset your Hisense TV without a remote, press and hold the reset button at the back of the TV for about 15 seconds. Or until the TV turns off and on. You can also reset it by unplugging the device. And pressing a series of buttons on the TV. Using a digital remote can also be a good solution.
11 steps to reset a Hisense TV without remote
#1: Ensure that the TV is powered ON
To start the reset process, ensure that your smart TV is powered ON.
It must be plugged into a power socket. And the TV screen should be displaying the homepage.
Suppose it’s powered OFF. Press the POWER button on the TV once.
Note: Depending on your TV model, the location of the POWER button may vary.
It’s usually located either on the left or right back corner of your TV. Or right under the Hisense logo at the bottom center of the device.
#2: Locate the reset button
Note: This method only applies to select Hisense TVs with a dedicated reset button. If yours don’t have one, jump to step #5.
Next, locate the reset button at the back of your TV.
This button allows you to easily get your device back to its default settings.
It’s usually located alongside the cable ports of your Hisense TV. And it’s facing parallel to the TV.
Plus, it has a “reset” label next to it. So, you shouldn’t have a hard time looking for it.
#3: Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds
Once you’ve found the reset button…
Press and hold it for about 15 seconds. Or until the TV screen turns off and on.
You can either use a paperclip, pen, or other similar items to access the reset button.
Warning: Make sure not to remove your hold until it’s done. As it’ll cause the reset process to fail.
Doing this would require monitoring the TV screen while holding the reset button. Which can be a struggle.
So, consider performing this action with a friend.
You may assign yourself to press the reset button. And ask your friend to monitor the TV screen. Or vice versa.

#4: Wait for the TV to turn off and on twice
As soon as the TV screen turns off and on once, you must release your hold. And then wait for the device to reboot one more time.
When turning on, the TV screen should display the Hisense logo.
After the second reboot, the setup page should display on the TV screen.
This indicates that the reset process is already done. And your Hisense TV is now ready to be set up again.
#5: Unplug the TV from the socket
Do this reset method if your TV model doesn’t have a reset button but has other control buttons.
First, make sure that your TV is powered ON. And then unplug its power cord from the power socket.
Suppose you can’t access its power cord. Switch off its power from the circuit breaker.
Doing this should turn off your device. And turn the TV screen blank.
#6: Press and hold the POWER button
Next, locate the POWER button on your TV.
There are 2 types of control button panels on Hisense TVs:
- Linear type.
- Circular type.
You can usually find linear-type control panels on the left side of the TV. With the TV screen facing towards you.
And circular-type control panels are usually at the bottom-right corner of the TV.
Once you’ve found the POWER button on your device…
Press and hold it for 10 seconds.

#7: Replug the TV while holding the POWER button
While still holding the POWER button…
Replug the power cord of your TV to the socket.
Note: This may be difficult to perform alone. Especially if the power socket is far away from the TV.
So, again, ask a friend to help you out.
You may continue holding the POWER button. And ask your friend to replug your TV. Or vice versa.
#8: Release the POWER button
Since you’re holding the POWER button…
Your Hisense TV should turn on once the power cord has been plugged into the power socket.
Once your TV turns on, release your hold.
#9: Press and hold the MENU and VOLUME DOWN buttons
After that, locate the MENU and VOLUME DOWN buttons on the control panel.
Then, press and hold the buttons for about 10 seconds. Or until the TV screen turns on and displays a blue light.
As soon as it happens, release your hold.
#10: Repeat steps 5 to 6
To end the reset process, repeat steps 5 to 6.
Unplug your TV once again.
And then, press and hold the POWER button on the device for 10 seconds.
Note: Keep in mind that you’d only need to hold the POWER button for 10 seconds. You won’t have to continue holding it for the next step.
#11: Replug and turn ON the TV
Finally, replug the power cord of your TV to the power socket. And then, press the POWER button once to turn ON your device.
Doing so should wake your TV screen. And prompt it to display the setup page.
Congratulations! You now have successfully reset your Hisense TV back to its default settings.

BONUS: Download a digital remote
Suppose your TV model doesn’t have a reset button and other control buttons. You may do this third method.
Note: This requires the use of a third-party device. It can be a smartphone or a tablet.
Typically, you’ll use a TV remote to reset your device easily.
But if your TV remote is broken or malfunctioning, download a digital remote to access your TV’s settings.
Note: Your smart TV and mobile device should be connected to the same WiFI network for it to work.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Download the “Hisense Remove Now” app.
Install the Hisense digital remote on your Android or iOS device.
Step 2: Add your Hisense TV as a device
If it’s your first time using the app, it’ll ask you to pair your TV to the app.
When a message pops up, just press “Select.” And then, tap your Hisense TV.
Step 3: Tap the control button icon.
To start navigating your TV using the digital remote.
Click the control button icon at the screen’s bottom-left corner. Look for a floating green icon.
Step 4: Use the digital remote to access your TV’s settings.
Press the navigation arrows to click the settings icon on your TV screen. Or tap the hand icon on the digital remote to navigate the homepage more easily.
Step 5: Use the arrows and OK buttons to reset the TV.
Note: Depending on your TV model, the actual steps may vary.
But here’s the usual way of doing it:
- Go to settings.
- Select “Support.”
- Click “Storage and Reset.”
- Tap “Factory Data Reset.”
- Enter the default PIN (0000).
- Then, wait for the reset to finish.
Is there a reset button on a Hisense TV?
There’s a reset button on a Hisense TV. But it’s only available on select models, usually for Hisense Roku TVs. It’s located at the back of the device, alongside the cable ports. And it can only be accessed using a paperclip or similar object.
Here are some Hisense Roku TV models that have a reset button:
- 58R6E.
- 58R6E3.
- 65R6E3.
- 43R6E1.
- 50R6E1.
- 65R6E1.
- 55R6070G.
- 55R6090G.
If you use any of these TV models…
You can reset your device without a remote by pressing and holding the reset button for about 15 seconds.
But if not, you may still reset your TV without a remote by unplugging your device. And pressing and holding a series of control buttons on the device.
Usually, those are the POWER, MENU, and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
Note: However, not all Hisense TVs have control buttons on the device except for the POWER one.
For that case, you’ll have to try another solution:
Use a digital remote to access your Hisense TV’s settings.
