How to watch Discovery Plus on Hulu
You can’t watch Discovery Plus on Hulu as they’re 2 completely different services. However, the shows on Discovery are accessible with a Hulu Live TV subscription. Moreover, you can get access to more Discovery shows by purchasing add-ons.
#1: Subscribe to Hulu Live TV

Getting access to similar shows from Discovery Plus. And all you need is the right plan on Hulu.
So what are your options?
Well, Hulu has several plans with varying prices:

And to access shows from the Discovery Channel…
You have to subscribe to one of the two Hulu + Live TV plans.
Whichever plan you choose, you can customize your experience by purchasing add-ons. Choose one or more from the services below:
- ESPN+.
- STARZ.
- Disney+.
- Cinemax.
- HBO Max.
- Showtime.
Note: For Hulu + Live TV plans, ESPN+ and Disney+ are already included in the package. However, you must have your billing through Hulu and not Sprint.
Need more shows?
Then get the Sports or Entertainment add-on. The latter gives you access to Discover Family and Discover Life on top of 14 other channels.
How to subscribe to Hulu Live TV
If you don’t have a Hulu account yet, follow these steps:
- Visit Hulu’s website through a web browser.
- Click the ‘Start Your Free Trial’ button.
- Select the plan you want.
- Input all the requested details, such as your email and password.
- Click ‘Continue.’
- Input your billing details plus your payment option.
- Finalize your sign-up by clicking the ‘Submit’ button.
Once you’ve created an account, you must get through an onboarding process. This step familiarizes you with the Hulu platform.
Moreover, Hulu will ask you some questions. Then, it’ll use the data to personalize your experience.
Note: Hulu + Live TV plans don’t have a free trial period. If you want to take advantage of this offer, sign up for the basic Hulu plans first. You can always change your subscription later on.
So say that you already have an ongoing Hulu subscription…
Then you should change your plan.
So here’s what you should do:
- Log into your account on the website.
- Navigate to the ‘Your Subscription’ section.
- From there, select ‘Manage Plan.’
- Switch on one of the Live TV plans to activate your new subscription.
- (Optional) Click ‘Manage Add-ons’ to choose other services, if applicable.
- Once you’re done, click ‘Review Changes’ to confirm your choices.
- On the next page, enter your zip code and check some boxes.
- Click ‘Submit.’
At this point, your subscription to Live TV should already be active. But, you might not see it in your account yet.
If so, log out of your account first, then sign back in. All the Live TV options should become available under ‘Networks.’

What else can you get with Live TV plans?
Furthermore, you have the ESPN+ and Disney+ that I mentioned earlier.
If you’re eligible, you get these additional services along with any Live TV plan.
So what shows can you watch on these platforms?
Well, ESPN+ is a sports streaming platform, so you can watch shows like:
- Expert analysis.
- Original studio shows.
- Documentary programs.
- Live games from MLS, MLB, and NHL.
Note that some of these shows aren’t even available on the ESPN networks. So a subscription sounds like a good deal to me.
Plus, you can access most ESPN+ content through the Hulu app.

First, you need to download Hulu on any supported device.
And most viewers access the streaming service through the Hulu app on iOS and Android. You may also download it on:
- Apple TV.
- Chromecast.
- Nintendo Switch.
- Xbox 360 and One.
- Roku and Roku Stick.
- Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.

Just visit its website using any web browser.
Other than that, all you need is high-speed internet. And Hulu recommends at least 8 Mbps for a smooth viewing experience.

That’s why I understand if you still want a discovery+ subscription on top of your Hulu account.
Not to worry, you can use any web browser to access discovery+ content through its website. But, you need an account first.
How to get Discovery Plus
If you liked the franchise 90 Day Fiance, you’d be glad to know that discovery+ offers almost 10 other shows based on it. And you won’t find these episodes elsewhere.
Or, is paranormal shows more to your liking?
Well, the platform also has a long list of original haunting series.

Well, first, you have to get a discovery+ subscription. So follow these easy steps to get started:
- Head on over to the Discovery Plus website.
- Click the ‘Start Free Trial’ button.
- On the next page, select a plan.
- Enter your email and password to create an account.
- Select ‘Agree and Continue.’
- Next, input your billing information. You’re required to enter your payment details so discovery+ can bill you after your free trial ends.
- Click ’Agree and Continue’ one last time.
With that, you now have a discovery+ account. Which you can use to access over 60,000 TV episodes.
Now, your experience depends on the plan you choose during the sign-up process. And you only have 2 options:
- Basic discovery+ plan – $4.99/month.
- Ad-free discovery+ plan – $6.99/month.
As you can see, your choices are pretty simple. There’s no difference between them except for the few ads in the basic plan.
#3: Use Discovery Plus app
Do you want to watch your favorite shows on the go?
Well, the good news is that the app is available on iOS and Android. So you can access it anywhere through your smartphone or tablet.
Other than that, you can download the Discovery Plus app on these devices:
- Xbox.
- Roku.
- Fire TV.
- Apple TV.
- Android TV.
- LG Smart TV.
- Samsung Smart TV.
Moreover, discovery+ is available on VIZIO Smart TV. However, you don’t need to download it as it’s available through SmartCast Home.

#1: Discovery Plus isn’t available on Hulu
Discovery Plus and Hulu are different from each other, much like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
First of all, discovery+ is a standalone streaming platform. As such, it requires a separate subscription.
Now you might wonder if getting another subscription service is worth it.
What’s in it for you?
Well, it has all the popular content from channels like TLC, Lifetime, and Food Network.
