What to do if you’re not able to use your Beats while charging

Now, there are times when a Beats headphone won’t function properly as it charges.

Based on many user feedback…

Some Beats headphones just won’t connect to another device during charge.

And some may turn on and then off while plugged into a power source. Or won’t turn on at all.

In cases like those, all you have to do is reseat the charging cable.

By that, I mean unplug the cable from both the headphone and the power source. And then, wait for a few seconds before plugging the cable back.

And as soon as your Beats starts charging again…

You may then turn it on and start using it.

Can all Beats headphones be used while charging?

Not all Beats headphones can be used while charging. It’s fine to use on-ear models like the Solo Pro and over-ear types like the Studio 3 when they charge. But for in-ear types, only those without a case can be used while charging.

As a rule of thumb…

If a Beats headphone charges via a USB cable, it’s ok to use it during charge.

So, you may listen to every on-ear and over-ear Beats even when you’re charging them. And, you may also do so with the Powerbeats 4 and Flex in-ear headphones.

That’s because they’re the only in-ear types that also use USB for charging.

However, all other in-ear Beats have a charging case. And they need to be inside it to charge.

Hence, you won’t be able to use them while charging.

Is it bad to use Beats while charging?

It’s not bad to use Beats while charging. They have built-in mechanisms that keep them safe for use even when you plugged them into a power source. However, it’s still better to avoid using Beats while charging. This is to allow them to achieve a full charge much faster.

A few decades ago, there was a real risk in using gadgets while they charge.

That’s because technology, in genera, wasn’t as developed yet. And there was a lack of safety mechanisms for charging.

It’s why there were many instances back then of cellphones exploding while charging.

And in some cases…

Some even got electrocuted trying to use a gadget while on charge.

However, in recent years, companies have improved the safety measures of their products.

That’s why it’s perfectly fine to use Beats headphones while they’re charging.

Beats headphones may be overrated. But they have good safety mechanisms.

The only consequence of using them while charging is it’ll take longer for them to achieve a full charge.

And of course, even if they’re usable while on charge…

It’s still best to take safety precautions.

So, you still have to check if there are defects in the charging cable. And if there are, replace it.

Also, you have to keep liquids away from the headphones while they charge. As you may know, electricity and liquids are a dangerous combination.

But all in all, you should feel free to use your Beats even as it charges.
