But don’t worry.

There’s a way to make your AirPods forget every device they previously paired with.

#2: Your laptop’s registry is glitching

Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with this term.

Simply speaking, the registry is your laptop’s database. And it holds the crucial data your Windows device needs to operate. Which includes Bluetooth.

On rare occasions, this important database may glitch.

As a result, some apps or wireless connections on your laptop won’t work.

But fret not. Fixing this problem is much easier than you think.

And really, it takes less than 5 minutes to…

Edit the data on your Asus laptop’s registry

Warning: Follow the steps below carefully. Changing the wrong settings on the registry may prevent some of your laptop’s apps from working. Or even slow down your computer’s performance.

Step 1: Head to your laptop’s search box

For devices running on Windows 10 or earlier…

You’ll find this at the bottom-left corner of your screen.

But if your laptop has the Windows 11 OS…

Click the Windows icon at the center of your taskbar first.

Then, tap the search bar that appears in the Start-Up menu.

Step 2: Open the Registry Editor

Type “Registry Editor” in your laptop’s search bar.

And once you see the app from the list…

Right-click it, and choose Run as Administrator from the options.

When a new window shows up…

Step 3: Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE option

Just click the small arrowhead pointing to the right on the left side of this selection.

And when the subfolders appear below it…

Step 4: Click the arrow beside SYSTEM

A bunch of subsections will appear again. So from the new options…

Step 5: Expand the ControlSet001

It’s the 2nd folder under the SYSTEM file you chose earlier.

Step 6: Choose Control

After doing so…

Step 7: Tap Class

Under this section…

The folders will have titles composed of long strings of numbers.

So to properly read the names of these files…

Expand the left side of the Registry Editor app.

Once you do…

Step 8: Fix your laptop’s Registry
  1. Right-click the file that starts with e0cbf06c.

Pro tip: The selections are sorted in numerical, then alphabetical order. So, follow the first digit of the files to find this faster.

  1. From the new pop-up that appears, click New.
  2. Choose String Value.
  3. Name this as “PnPCapabilities” and press enter.
  4. Double-click the string value you just made.
  5. Set the Value Data to 24.
  6. Exit the Registry app.
  7. Restart your Asus laptop.

Here’s a video that can help you do this process:

#3: Your laptop’s Bluetooth driver is out of date

This component allows your laptop to communicate with other wireless gadgets.

So if your Asus device’s Bluetooth driver isn’t up to date…

Your laptop also won’t effectively connect with your AirPods.

So now, you should…

Update your Asus laptop’s Bluetooth driver

Step 1: Head to your device’s search bar.

Step 2: Type “Device Manager” and launch the control panel.

Step 3: Expand Bluetooth.

Just click the arrowhead pointing to the right beside the wireless connection.

Step 4: Right-click the Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth ® option.

Note: Your laptop’s driver’s name may be different. But in all Asus devices, it’ll be the 2nd choice under the primary Bluetooth selection.

Step 5: Select Update driver.

Step 6: Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Step 7: Update your laptop’s Bluetooth driver if there’s a new version available.

Bonus: Contact the companies of your devices

If none of the solutions I’ve listed above fixed the problem…

You should reach out to the brands themselves to help you.

Fortunately, both Apple and Asus have top-notch customer service.

So, you can talk to their official representatives without waiting for days.

That said, to reach Asus’ support team, just call 1-888-678-3688.
