How to connect AirPods to Lenovo Laptop – 7 steps
#1: Prepare your AirPods
Put both of your AirPods inside their case with the lid open.
Then, observe the LED light on your audio device.
Is it red?
If it is, charge your AirPods along with their case. Because a low battery often slows down the pairing process.
On top of charging your audio device, you should also…
Reset your AirPods
Step 1: Ensure that both your AirPods are inside their case.
Step 2: Wait for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Open the case’s lid.
Step 4: Grab an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad.
Step 5: Forget your AirPods on your mobile gadget.
Just follow these:
- Go to your phone’s Settings app.
- Click Bluetooth.
- Locate your AirPods’ name.
- Tap the More Info button that looks like an (i) beside your audio device.
- Click Forget This Device.
- Open the lid of your AirPods case.
- Press and hold the pairing button on the casing.
- Let go when the indicator light blinks amber, then white.
Note: The LED will be inside the AirPods case if you have a wired charging case. But for wireless and MagSafe models, you’ll find this outside.
And now that your audio device is ready, you can go ahead and…
#2: Head to your laptop’s Bluetooth Settings
At the bottom-right corner of your Lenovo laptop’s screen…
Click the small arrowhead pointing up to see more icons.
When a pop-up window appears, click the Bluetooth logo.
Then from the list, select Add a Bluetooth Device.
After doing so, your laptop’s Bluetooth Settings window will appear.
So from here on…
#3: Tap the Add Bluetooth (+) icon
Under the window’s heading…
You’ll see a + button with the text “Add Bluetooth or other device” beside it.
Now, simply click this option, and once a new window appears…
#4: Select Bluetooth
You’ll see 3 different selections on your screen.
From this list, tap Bluetooth. Which is the first option from the top.
#5: Put your AirPods in pairing mode
Press and hold the pairing button at the back of your AirPods case.
Then, let go when the LED light on your audio device turns solid white.
#6: Select your AirPods
Wait for your audio device’s name to appear on your screen.
Then, click it once it shows up.
#7: Set your AirPods as your computer’s default audio output
- Click the upward arrow at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon.
- Select Add a Bluetooth device.
- Under the Audio heading, click your AirPods’ name.
- Choose Connect.
Now, play any form of media from your Lenovo laptop.
And you should hear the audio through your AirPods.

#2: Your devices have an unstable connection
Some Bluetooth gadgets won’t pair efficiently right away.
So, you need to…
Reconnect your devices to give them a much better connection:
- Press the Windows logo at the lower-left corner of your screen (Windows 10 or earlier).
- Select Settings or the gear icon.
- On the new window, choose Devices.
- Tap Bluetooth & other devices.
- Select your AirPods from the list.
- Tap Remove device.
- Click Yes to confirm.
After unpairing your AirPods from your Lenovo laptop…
Refer to the steps above again to reconnect your gadgets.
#3: Your devices have low-battery
When Bluetooth gadgets have insufficient power…
They’ll have difficulty connecting with other devices.
So now, you should charge your Lenovo laptop and AirPods.
Then, when both of them have at least 80% of battery…
Pair them once again.

#4: Your AirPods are trying to pair with other gadgets
If your AirPods want to connect to other devices…
They won’t successfully pair with your Lenovo laptop.
So, if there are other gadgets around you, such as:
- Phones.
- Smart TVs.
- Computers.
Turn them OFF temporarily.

That’s because outdated drivers usually stop your laptop from pairing successfully.

Update your Lenovo laptop’s Bluetooth driver
Step 1: Head to Lenovo’s official support website
Once the page completely loads…
Step 2: Select Drivers & Software
You’ll find this option at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Click Detect Product
This selection will be on the left side of your screen.
And it’ll have an icon that looks like a magnifying glass near a laptop.
Step 4: Select Manual Update
Along with your laptop model…
You’ll find these 3 options under the Driver & Software heading:
- Manual Update.
- Automatic Driver Update.
- Order Recovery Media.
Now, simply choose the first selection from the left, Manual Update.
And then…
Step 5: Tap Bluetooth and Modem
You’ll find this on the right side of the page.
Step 6: Click the Bluetooth driver’s down arrowhead
Hover over the first driver on the list.
And click the down arrow on its right side. After doing so…
Step 7: Download the driver
Just click the download icon that appears below the driver’s name.
And when you successfully save the file on your laptop…
- Press Windows + E on your keyboard.
- Click Downloads on the left side of the window.
- Double-click the Bluetooth driver you downloaded.
- Follow the instructions on your screen.
After updating your Bluetooth driver, restart your laptop.
